I took over as owner of The Pet Lady, Ltd in 2016, succeeding my aunt, Elizabeth Dunkle. Prior to that I had been a pet sitter with us off and on for a number of years. I love animals and I am pictured with my Jack Russel/Beagle mix, Sassy. I also have two Calico sisters, Regina Phalange and Phoebe Buffay. I am a member of Pet Sitters International along with the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters. I am a certified professional pet sitter and am certified in pet first aid and CPR.

I was born and raised on the northwest side of Chicago. Growing up, we always had dogs in our family. My youngest daughter brought home our first pet, a kitten we named Rascal. A few years later Pudge, our second cat, found us and a year after, Tiger came along. Our cats were part of our family for over 16 years and we loved them dearly. My daughter, her family and I moved to Naperville in 2004 along with Mario the goldfish. I truly love dogs and cats. Hi! I’m Bree. I’ve been a pet lover my whole life. As a young child, I’d always find every pet on the block in my neighborhood and introduce myself. I have had many pets throughout my life: two ferrets (Itachi and Naruto), four Shih Tzus(Max, Molly, Princess and Biscuit). I’ve also had a dwarf lopped eared bunny named John and a Chinese dwarf hamster named Mr. Whiskers, which most people thought was a cat at first. As you can tell I’ve had a lot of furry family members over the years and I just can’t get enough of these cute friends! Hello, my name is Missy and I was born and raised in Elmhurst. My husband, Jason and I have raised our two kids here as well. Growing up, my family always had dogs and since I was young, I have always loved all animals. In recent years, I have put that passion into volunteering for Second City Canine Rescue. My family has fostered over 25 dogs over the last 4 years. We help them learn what love truly is & how to “dog” to finding their perfect family. They all take a piece of my heart but it is so rewarding to see how happy they are with their forever family. We also have two pups of our own, Brutus, a 9 year old chocolate lab/hound mix from Kentucky who we adopted 5 years ago. We also recently foster failed our Rosie, a 7 year old pittie. She was just too perfect to let go! I have a lot of experience handling all types of dogs-big and small. I am always interested in learning more about dog behavior and love enriching myself with training as well. I can promise that your pets will be taken care of just like they are my very own! In my freetime I enjoy hot yoga, hiking, kayaking, decorating, spending time with family & of course being surrounded by lots of animals!

Certified Professional Dog Trainer
I’m a CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer) through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. I started working with dogs 6 years ago. First, as a dog walker. I walked several dogs who struggled with behavioral issues and was able to form strong bonds with them. From there I moved on to working as a Handler in a Dog Daycare. Again, working with pups with varying personalities, befriending those who were seen as shy or problematic. Having a chance to work with these amazing creatures inspired me to learn how to appropriately help my canine companions live happier lives. I was fortunate enough to land a Training Apprenticeship with a Dog Trainer and Behavioral Consultant who had more than 20 years of experience in the industry. During my apprenticeship I worked mainly with behavioral cases; those struggling with anxiety, reactivity, and aggression. These dogs were the ones I wanted to help most and why I still focus much training on behavioral work. I’m proficient in basic obedience training and puppy training. Puppies offer rewarding experiences as I’m afforded the opportunity to help shape happy and healthy dogs from the start.

Our team of trainers are proficient in both basic obedience as well as behavioral modification techniques, thereby enabling them to provide a holistic approach to training that will ensure a happy home for both dog and pet parent. Dogs Can Do is dedicated to providing ethical care and services that will enrich the emotional well-being of all dogs and pet parents in our care.
Our History
The Pet Lady was founded in 1991 by Elizabeth Dunkle along with her mother, Mary Jean. They prided themselves on offering pampered care for pets in Naperville, Illinois. In 2016, Lauren Dunkle, Elizabeth’s niece, took over following in the footsteps of her aunt and grandmother. Lauren expanded the service area to include Elmhurst, Villa Park and Lombard, Illinois.
